The Villa Marina complex was more than £226,000 over budget last year.

This was revealed by Julie Edge, the Minister for Education, Sports and Culture, in the House of Keys today.

She said: ‘Out of the total acts, 10 made a profit whilst five made a loss.

‘A factor towards this was the number of shows carried over from the previous years, which had to be slotted into dates available to both the venue and artists.

‘These were carry-overs from the Covid period, so it is perhaps not a good year to be doing any of these comparisons.’
