Good news for Port Erin: Foraging Vintners and Noa Bakehouse are set to open at the Cosy Nook tonight Thursday (May 27), from 10am till sunset, as long as the weather is kind.

Put together Noa coffee, baked goods and toasted sandwiches, with Foraging Vintners’ ciders, fizz and cocktails with the much-loved Cosy Nook site and you’ve got a recipe for long, enjoyable summer days with friends. All we need to give it all a helping hand is the weather.

Foraging Vintner co-owner, Mary-Beth Coll, explained: ’The opening times will all be based on the weather.

’We will be operating a flag system as we did with the pop up last year. If the flag is raised then we will be open until the sun sets or when the weather tells us it’s time.’

The site is still evolving as a new marquee will be arriving shortly and the initial drinks licence is initially only for one month with the hope that it will be granted for the whole summer.

’But Noa will definitely be bringing more of a cafe vibe and it will feel much less like a pop up,’said Mary-Beth.

She is only too aware of the sensitivities surrounding the Cosy Nook site. She said: ’We recognise what this site is capable of and we understand the inter-generational memories there.

’We recognise that it is an emotional issue and we want to let people feel engaged and feel that they are being listened to.’

The main Foraging Vintners venue on the other side of the bay will also be enjoying a new food provider this weekend. Meximan will be offering premium Mexican tapas dishes and premium burgers, served from the kitchen there.
