Four of the island’s leading original indie rock groups will appear at the Villa Marina.

The ’Indie Sandwich’ night takes place at the Promenade Suite this Saturday, May 1, from 8pm, and will feature a set from indie-pop-rockers headliners Voodoo Bandits, as well as the Sanssouci, A Stones Throw and The Tinkermen.

The concert has already endured a slightly tough time getting to the stage and has been called of and rescheduled twice already this year, because of covid restrictions this year.

The Voodoo Bandits, featuring singer and guitarist Ben Donaldson, bassist Charlotte Wilby and twins Corey and Nathan Vaughn on guitar and drums respectively, are one of the island’s most promising bands and, up until the social restrictions hit last year, were frequently travelling across to play gigs in venues across England and releasing several well-received singles.

’We’re all really looking forward to being able to perform again after recent setbacks caused by lockdown,’ said Charlotte.

’It’s felt like a long time coming since we initially organised the event so we’re super excited that we can finally get to it on Saturday.’

Tickets are £5 and can be purchased either on the door or from villagaiety.com.
