The 12th annual Relay For Life will take place this weekend.
In aid of Cancer Research UK, the event will be held at the NSC on Saturday, August 28.
The 24-hour walking event will see 40 teams with 70 VIP cancer survivors attend and will begin win an opening ceremony at 11.50am.
Organisers of the event have said they hope to ’smash through the £1million target for the past 12 years of relaying on the island’.
Saturday will include family fun games, fancy dress laps, stalls, crafts and music, including a performance by local musician Mae Challis at 5pm, band the 5 O’Clock Shadows and DJ Neil King at 6pm.
A Candle of Hope ceremony will also take place at dusk around 8.45pm when ’everyone is welcome to come and remember those fighting or lost to cancer’.
All funds raised will go to fund life saving clinical trials in the North West where patients from the Isle of Man are treated.
Sunday will see the closing ceremony for the relay.
On November 11, be the total raised from this year’s campaign will be revealed alongside a grand tombola draw.
