Mannin Quilters created seven wall-hangings, six depicting life in the island’s Unesco Biosphere’s sheadings and a seventh explaining the project.

The works went on a tour of venues island-wide in spring and were enjoyed by many visitors but this tour was cut short by Covid-19.

The wall-hangings now have a home in Legislative Buildings, Douglas, where they can be enjoyed by visitors and those holding events.

Chief Minister Howard Quayle MHK, the chair of Unesco Biosphere Isle of Man, and Geoffrey Boot MHK, Minister for Environment, Food and Agriculture, the vice-chair, are pictured inspecting the wall-hangings in their new home, with Chris Eastham, chair of Mannin Quilters.

It is planned to display the wall-hangings at other venues in the future, too.

The island’s Unesco Biosphere status encourages people to learn about and cherish what the Isle of Man has and safeguard it for the future by making good decisions, as individuals, as organisations and as an island.
