Firstly a huge congratulations to Heat One winners Warbird who are the first of the three finalists to go through to the grand final on Saturday, November25.

This week sees Nick Kinrade stepping in as a late substitution for Disillusionists who have had to stand down from the proceedings.

As a previous member of Seversyn and 7 Year Black Hole, Nick also had a brief stint with 2016 winners, The Clown Calls For War.

In the past year or so the fledgling Hip Hop scene on the island has been gaining momentum thanks to a collective spearheaded by Han-FX and Jor-DMC (aka Keiran Hannifin and Jordan Preece). Thanks to recent live shows, the collective are steadily raising their profile on the Manx live scene. Indeed Han-FX and Jor-DMC recently released a promo video for their track "The Beat" which you can find on Youtube.

After them come new band Sanssouci (pronounced Sans-Soo-See).

The three-piece outfit, who are a blend of ambient rock, hardcore and stoner metal, features former members of Our Final Hour, Honourable and Ignite The Sky, namely Kriss Maguire on Vocals and Guitars, Adam Elston-Lane on Bass, and Edward Knight on Drums.

Having played their debut show back in February of this year Slow Decay have kept themselves busy. Influenced by Sisters of Mercy, The Cure and Siouxsie and the Banshees, they feature Mark Sayle and Steven Halsall sharing guitar duties, Sabina Jarzabek on vocals, Phil Cleary on bass and Stu Kneen on drums.
