Ramsey Commissioners are calling for a second carriageway on Gardener’s Lane to be completed before further development takes place in the area.

Members gave unanimous backing to a proposal by lead member for works and development Ffinlo Williams that they submit an observation to the planning committee in relation to Dandara Homes’ application to build 34 more dwellings on land adjoining Auldyn Meadow Drive.

Mr Williams told the board: ’It’s going to aggravate traffic problems in that area.’

Nick Sykes of Greenlands, Gardener’s Lane, has lodged an objection to the application on several grounds, including that of access. He states that, in law, there should be two points of access, not one as is currently the case, serving a development of this size.
