The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning for coastal overtopping.
The forecast:
Dry to start and becoming sunny with patchy cloud developing through the afternoon. Strong to near gale force south or southeast wind and moderate coastal overtopping around the time of high tide (1:15pm). Maximum temperature 20°C.
Through the evening and overnight showers arriving that may be heavy at times. Especially windy in/near showers with gusts to around 50-55mph.
Into tomorrow, rain, heavy at times, clearing through the morning as sunny spells develop. Isolated showers thereafter. Strong to gale force mainly southerly wind and a top temperature of 19°C.
On Saturday sunny spells and occasional blustery showers. Strong to near gale force west or southwest wind and a highest temperature of 18°C.
