The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning for coastal overtopping and minor harbour flooding.

Spells of rain will affect the island today, some of which will be heavy at times.

Windy with a strong to near gale force south-westerly wind, which will lead to coastal overtopping in exposed locations around the time of high tide (11am), as well as a risk of some minor inner harbour flooding for Douglas & Ramsey. Top temperature around 11°C, but feeling colder in the wind.

The rain will turn lighter and patchier this evening, to leave much of the night dry.

Although still very windy as the winds turn to the west and become strong to gale force once more with a further risk of coastal overtopping around the high tide (~11:25pm).

Outlook

Bright at first tomorrow, but turning cloudy during the morning before outbreaks of rain develop into the afternoon. Still fairly windy, as the strong westerly wind gradually turns to the south or southwest. Highest temperature around 12°C.

Tuesday will be rather cloudy with any brightness limited to more northern parts of the island, and although most places will remain dry, there is the threat of a little light rain or drizzle. Another windy day with a strong to near gale force south to southwest wind. Maximum temperature of 13°C.
