The bank holiday weather might not be welcomed by many but it is good news for farmers and gardeners after so many weeks of dry conditions.

The forecast from the Met Office:

Cloudy with outbreaks of rain starting off light before becoming heavy and more persistent from around mid-morning as the southerly winds increase strong to gale force. Then during the afternoon the rain will turn more showery, as the winds ease to a moderate or fresh west or south-westerly. Feeling cold, the maximum temperature 10 Celsius.

Strong northwest winds on Tuesday easing later in the day and often frequent showers, possibly merging into longer spells of rain at times. Top temperatures of 10 Celsius.

Sunny intervals and showers during Wednesday morning becoming more isolated. Moderate northwest wind decreasing overnight. Top temperatures of 10 Celsius.
