The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for icy patches and coastal overtopping.
The forecast:
Dry and mainly cloudy with a cold and strong east or southeast wind. Top temperature 4°C but feeling much colder than that given the strength of the wind.
Remaining similar overnight and then tomorrow largely cloudy with possibly a few outbreaks of rain or sleet. This turning heavier overnight into Tuesday with any snow confined to hills. Remaining cold and windy with a fresh east or southeasterly.
On Tuesday outbreaks of rain for much of the day with sleet over higher ground. Moderate to fresh southeast winds and temperatures still struggling to 5 or 6°C.
