Weather forecasters have issued a yellow weather warning for frost and ice.

The forecast from the Met Office:

A dry but often cloudy day today with some brightness and light winds but still cold with temperatures peeking at just 4 Celsius, then with a spell of sleet or snow overnight.

The wind will turn northwesterly and strengthen first thing on Tuesday, a cold day again with sleet or snow during the early hours then turning to isolated wintry showers, temperatures only 4 Celsius and feeling much colder in the strong wind.

Largely dry and bright for Wednesday, with some sunshine during the morning, moderate northerly winds becoming a westerly and highs of 5 Celsius.
