The Met Office has issued a yellow weather alert for frost.

The forecast:

A fair day with bright or sunny spells, fairly light east or northeast winds with temperatures rising to 7 Celsius.

The wind will increase strong to gale from the east overnight and it will turn wet with some heavy rain developing and snow over the hills

A wet, cold and windy start to the day tomorrow with snow over the hills at first, the strong east wind will ease during the afternoon, the rain will largely die out and it will turn milder by evening.

Temperatures just 3 or 4 in the morning will rise to 8 or 9 later in the day

Some patchy rain at times on Tuesday, light or moderate south to southeast winds and temperatures up to 9 or perhaps 10 Celsius.
