The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for ice.
The forecast:
Sunny spells today but feeling cold in a fresh to strong north or northwest wind which will ease a little this afternoon, temperatures only around 6 Celsius.
The wind will fall away this evening and tonight with a fairly widespread frost developing, temperatures in the coldest spots will fall a couple of degrees below freezing.
A generally dry day tomorrow but more cloudy and with a freshening southwest wind, strong southwesterlies on Boxing Day and turning wet by evening
