The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for ice and frost.
The forecast:
Largely cloudy and dry today but cold. Temperatures staying below freezing on the hills with icy patches on the upland roads, and only between 3 or 4 Celsius at lower levels, feeling even colder than that in the fresh or strong easterly winds.
Very cold tomorrow with variable amounts of cloud giving bright intervals and just a small chance of an isolated snow shower. Temperatures staying sub-zero on high ground, with icy patches, and just 3°C at best at low levels, with strong winds continuing from the east leading to significant wind chill.
Remaining very cold for Tuesday with fresh to strong east to northeast winds and the risk of a few light snow showers. Top temperature 3°C.
