The Met Office’s yellow weather warning for frost and ice continues.

The forecast:

After a cold and frosty start for some places, today will be bright with sunny spells and one or two passing wintry showers. Top temperature around 5°C in the moderate to fresh north-easterly wind.

Most places will remain dry this evening & tonight, although an isolated shower is still possible. Another cold night with temperatures likely to fall close to freezing over higher ground and in spots sheltered from the north-easterly wind, giving a further risk of frost.

Another bright but chilly day tomorrow with the continuing threat of the odd wintry shower. Breezy with a moderate to fresh north to northeast wind, and highest temperature once again around 5°C.

Mostly dry on Wednesday with the chance of some bright or sunny intervals at first, but turning cloudy later in the day, with rain arriving from the northwest towards dawn on Thursday, perhaps falling as sleet or snow over the hills. Highs of 5°C, with a light to moderate northerly wind, which will freshen from the west or northwest overnight.
