The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for frost and ice.
The forecast:
Cloud continuing to clear leading to the risk of icy stretches forming, then lengthy sunny spells developing. Winds falling light and a maximum temperature of 6°C this afternoon before temperatures falling quickly in the evening as a frost develops.
Rain returning overnight that is likely to fall as sleet or snow over high ground initially before turning back to rain as milder air sets in. Otherwise tomorrow rain and drizzle becoming heavy and persistent for much of the day before turning patchy in the evening. Moderate southeast winds veering southwest through the day, top temperature 10°C.
On Thursday rain and drizzle quickly clearing with sunny intervals developing. Moderate to fresh mainly northwest wind and a highest temperature of 9°C.
