The strong southwest winds will strengthen to gale or severe gale force later in the afternoon and through the evening, with gusts of 60 to 70 mph. Some damage is possible, and some water and debris will be washed onto exposed roads and promenades. Maximum temperature 9 Celsius.
Tonight the rain will clear, as the winds will turn westerly and ease. Then tomorrow will be bright with sunny intervals, but also a risk of scattered showers, these possibly heavy and turning wintry. Feeling cold in the fresh to strong westerly winds.
