The weather forecast from the Met Office:
Cloudy with rain arriving early this morning, becoming persistent and heavy for much of the day as the southeast wind increases strong to gale force with gusts of 40-45 mph in the most exposed spots. Maximum temperature around 11°C.
Spells of rain will continue to affect the island at times this evening & tonight, with the odd heavier burst still possible. The southerly winds will ease slightly, becoming fresh to strong before turning to the north or northwest late in the night. Minimum temperature no lower than 8°C.
Tomorrow will remain largely cloudy as the outbreaks of rain gradually become lighter and patchier. Still quite windy with a fresh to strong north to northwest wind and highs of 13°C.
Bright with sunny spells on Saturday and one or two passing showers. Temperatures reaching up to 12°C at best in the moderate to fresh northwest wind, which will back to the southwest overnight.
