The Met Office has issued three weather warnings:

Amber: Sleet and snow

Amber: Coastal overtopping

Yellow: Ice

The forecast:

Dry at first today, but with outbreaks of snow arriving later this morning and continuing at times this afternoon.

Many places across the island are likely to see accumulations of 2 to 5 cm, and combined with the strong to gale force southeast wind blizzard like conditions are expected over higher ground along with some drifting.

Temperatures remaining around 0°C for much of the day, with overtopping still affecting the coast around the time of high tide (~12:30pm).

The snow will die away early this evening leaving much of the night dry, as temperatures gradually start to rise as milder conditions move in.

Tomorrow will be cloudy with outbreaks of rain developing, and becoming persistent and often heavy during the afternoon, before clearing early evening. Another windy day with a strong to gale force south to southeast wind, which will turn to the south or southwest and start to ease during the evening. Milder than of late with temperatures rising up to 9°C later in the day.

Much of Monday will be dry, with some bright or sunny spells during the morning before it turns increasingly cloudy, bringing outbreaks of rain overnight. Top temperature around 9°C with a moderate to fresh southerly wind.
