The Met Office have issued two weather warnings.
There is a yellow weather warning for coastal overtopping this morning and there is an amber weather warning for coastal overtopping and minor inner harbour flooding tonight.
The poor weather means that the Steam Packet’s sailing to Heysham this morning and its return have been cancelled.
The weather forecast from the Met Office:
Spells of rain continuing today, with some heavier bursts possible. A strong southeast wind increasing strong to gale force by evening, giving gusts of up to 50mph for a time before easing slightly overnight. Some minor coastal overtopping is also expected around high tide in the morning (10:14am), but more significant overtopping is expected during the evening (10:40pm), with some minor inner harbour flooding possible in Douglas and Ramsey. Top temperature 13°C.
Remaining unsettled on Sunday with further spells of rain at times during the day. Top temperature around 12°C with fresh to strong west to south-westerly wind, which will be near-gale force at times.
Monday will start largely dry with sunny intervals and only isolated showers showers, however it will cloud over in the afternoon with a spell of rain arriving later in the day. Winds will continue a fresh to strong westerly which will increase strong to gale force overnight. Top temperature around 12°C.
