The weather forecast from the Met Office:
Cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle developing and becoming persistent this morning, with some heavier bursts likely before clearing to showers later this afternoon.
The light west to southwest wind will turn to the south or southwest and increase strong to gale force this afternoon. Highest temperature around 10°C.
The showers will merge into a spell of rain for a time tonight with the south-southwesterly wind increasingly slightly with gusts of 50-55 mph. There is also a risk of some coastal overtopping around the time of high tide (~10pm). The rain will clear later in the night as the winds quickly turn to the west or northwest. Minimum temperature around 5°C.
Tomorrow will see a mixture of bright and sunny spells and scattered blustery showers, which will move through very quickly on the strong to near gale force westerly wind. Highs of 8°C.
Bright on Friday with a few passing showers and some spells of sunshine in-between, but turning cloudy later in the day before an area of rain spreads across the island overnight
