The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain and coastal overtopping.
The forecast:
Patchy rain becoming heavy and persistent later this morning and early afternoon that may lead to localised surface water flooding.
Strong to gale force southeast wind with minor coastal overtopping around the time of high tide (~10am).
Rain clearing later this afternoon as the wind veers southerly with heavy showers following. Maximum temperature 11°C.
Heavy showers continuing overnight with strong winds leading to further coastal overtopping (~10:15pm) and then tomorrow is a day of sunshine and blustery showers. Fresh to strong southwest wind and a top temperature of 10°C.
On Tuesday, sunshine and blustery showers that may be heavy at times, then a risk of severe gales for a time on Wednesday.Beach Buddies has cancelled its event in Ramsey because of the poor weather.
