The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain.
The forecast:
Cloudy with outbreaks of rain and drizzle continuing through this morning, often rather heavy, and leading to some standing water on some of the islands roads. The rain then gradually petering out this afternoon but likely to remain dull and cloudy for much of the day. Light winds and a maximum temperature of 7°C.
Cold start to Friday with a patchy frost, otherwise dry with variable amounts of cloud. Light winds to start that will freshen by the evening, and increasing further overnight. Top temperature 6°C. Rain then developing overnight into Saturday.
Rain at first on Saturday will clear later in the morning leaving a largely dry day with only a few showers and some sunny intervals. The strong to gale force south-southwest winds soon veering northwest and decreasing slightly as the rain clears. Top temperature 9°C.
