There will be severe gale force winds this afternoon, the Met Office says.

’The strong to gale force wind will steadily increase this morning to severe gale with gusts 60-65mph by this afternoon.

’Yellow wind warning in force. There will also be some significant overtopping of waves around the time of high tide (~3pm).

Maximum temperature 13°C.

’Becoming dry through the evening and early hours before further rain, heavy at times, approaches by the end of the night. The southwesterly wind will gradually ease this evening and overnight, becoming moderate to fresh later. Lowest temperature 9°C.’
