A weather warning has been put in place for Friday and Saturday as wind gusts will reach 60mph.

South-southwest winds will increase to gale force overnight into Friday, with gusts to 60 mph.

From 8am Friday to midday Saturday there will be gales and coastal overtopping with the possibility of some minor damage.

The wind will then veer southwest on Friday afternoon, then west overnight into Saturday, easing Saturday afternoon.

High tide at 1:20pm Friday and 1:50am on Saturday morning will bring large waves and debris on exposed roads a couple of hours each side of high water.
