The month of July saw only three completely dry days and record rainfall.

Ronaldsway Met Office measured rainfall totalling 101.4mm for the month, 79% above the long term mean, making it the wettest July since 1987.

The end of the month saw the heaviest rain with over 20mm recorded on both the July 27 and 30.

Unsurprisingly there were only 156.6 hours of bright sunshine, compared to the July average of 195.9 hours, making it the dullest July since 2012.

The maximum temperature averaged 16.7c, 1.4c below normal, once again making it the coolest July since 2012. Only the last day of the month exceeded 20c (20.3c).

The mean wind speed measured 11.6mph, a little above the July mean of 10.9mph. The strongest winds were recorded on July 5 with gusts of 40mph.

Thunderstorms were close to the west coast on July 31 and fog was observed on July 4.
