What do you think about life in the Isle of Man?

The government is conducting a survey in its 2018 Social Attitudes Survey.

Commissioned by the Cabinet Office, the annual survey seeks feedback on a range of issues such as healthcare funding, crime and safety, transport and travel, housing, employment, population and Brexit.

It also asks people for their views on the best and worst things about living in the Isle of Man, confidence in the government and satisfaction with public services.

The anonymised results will be used by the government to inform policy development, to assess its performance and to gain a better insight into public opinion.

The 2018 Social Attitudes Survey, the third to be held, runs until Monday, May 28.

Policy and Reform Minister Chris Thomas MHK said: ’The survey will help to shape policies for the future by giving us a clearer picture of what people think about living in the Isle of Man. This includes people’s social and political perceptions, as well as their domestic circumstances, such as how well they are managing financially.’

He added: ’It’s important that everyone’s point of view is heard and evidence is gathered from different perspectives. I hope as many people as possible take part and tell us how they feel about Island life to inform Government thinking on some important national issues.’

People can respond to the 2018 Social Attitudes Survey online at www.gov.im/socialattitudes2018

Alternatively, paper copies are available from Government Office in Douglas, the Job Centre, Markwell House and the public libraries in Douglas, Peel, Ramsey and Castletown.

The survey is easy to complete by either ticking appropriate boxes or writing answers in the spaces provided. All information provided will be treated in the strictest confidence and only anonymised summaries will be published.
