The Isle of Pride festival is taking place today (Saturday) at the Villa Marina gardens in Douglas.

It will begin with a march from 12.30 from the Villiers Square to the Villa via Strand Street and Castle Street.

Throughout the day there will be activities including:

Community Art Project (in partnership with churches from across the island)

Inclusive reading area (in partnership with the Family Library)

Manx words colouring activity (in partnership with Culture Vannin)

Face painting

1pm Create a Pride flag (make your own Pride flag to welcome the Pride flag into the gardens)

2pm Pride poetry challenge (a chance to develop a community inspired Pride poem)

3pm Rainbow bracelets and tutus (make a beautiful rainbow bracelet or tutu ready for our fashion show)

4pm Stylish story time with Vida LaFierce (enjoy some inclusive story telling read by the fabulous Vida)

5pmâ??Dress to Express fashion show (come in your own fabulous clothes or rummage through our dressing up box, strut your stuff and maybe win a prize (ages two to 10)

6pm Close

On the main stage there will be entertainment from 1pm until the close at 11.45pm.

Drag queen Vida LaFierce will perform at 1.30pm, 4.30pm and 8.30pm.

Among the other highlights is a performance by the Rainbow Choir at 2.30pm.
