The Met Office has issued two weather warnings.
There is a yellow one for gales and an amber one for coastal overtopping.
The forecast:
Very windy this morning with gales or severe gales from the south or southwest and occasional outbreaks of rain which will become more persistent this afternoon. The wind will moderate by mid-afternoon but rain will continue until early evening with just a few isolated showers remaining tonight. Temperatures up to 12 Celsius.
High tide around 11.30am will see significant amounts of sea water and debris brought onto exposed coastal roads in the south as well as the northern end of Douglas promenade.
A colder day tomorrow but less windy and generally dry and bright with just a few showers, rain and gales will return on Monday.
