Police are seeking witnesses to an act of vandalism involving a shop in Douglas.

They said between Saturday February 13 and Sunday 14 a traffic cone has been thrown through the front window of Emily James Hair and Beauty Salon in Market Street.

Officers said that due to the damage, the front of the premises needed to be boarded up and the store closed while a thorough internal clean up to remove the glass could take place.

In a statement, police said: ’This has occurred following the premises just reopening after a period of closure caused by the latest Covid lockdown and has clearly caused further financial and emotional distress to the business owner.

Any persons who have witnessed this criminal damage taking place are asked to contact Police Headquarters on 631212 or via the anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.’
