The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain today.

But the heavy rain is forecast for this afternoon, after the TT Senior Race has ended, under the new timetable.

The race is due to take place from 10am to noon.

Today will start dry but will turn increasingly cloudy with rain moving in around lunchtime, becoming persistent this afternoon. Temperatures reaching up to 14°C at best as the east to northeast wind freshens during the day.

The rain will continue to be persistent and often heavy this evening and tonight, as the wind becomes strong from the north or northwest. Lowest temperature near to 9°C.

Heavy rain will continue to affect the island Saturday morning, accompanied by a strong north to northwest wind, however into the afternoon the rain will clear away leaving scattered showers as the wind turns to the west and eases. Maximum temperature 13°C.

Sunday will be bright with sunny spells and the chance of one or two passing showers. Highest temperature around 15°C in the mainly moderate west to south-westerly wind.
