A yellow weather warning has been issued this afternoon (Tuesday, September 29) as strong winds are set to hit the Isle of Man.

The yellow warning is for coastal overtopping, for the time period between 12.40pm and 2.40pm.

It has been advised that Douglas Promenade, Laxey Promenade, Ramsey Promenade and, to a lesser extent, Castletown Promenade will be the areas most affected.

A spokesperson from the Met Office at Ronaldsway commented: ‘Strong south-easterly winds are developing and will bring a risk of slight coastal overtopping of water and minor debris around the time of high tide.’

A yellow weather warning is issued for locals to ‘be aware’ - with the risk of bad weather affecting activities, some travel delays, risk of minor damage, and localised or temporary disruption.
