There were some close games in this match, with Rushen eventually winning by 20 points to gain a two league points’ to one victory.
Rushen’s Carole Ennett and Sarah Goldie shared games with Sam Spellman and Sophie Wade 20/21 21/18. Kirree Ronan and Janet Corkish then won both games for Rushen 21/13 21/20 against Karen Wade and Margaret Daughen.
Another shared games encounter was Ennett and Corkish with Spellman and Daughen 21/13 13/21.
Two games were won by sisters Ronan and Goldie against Sophie and Karen Wade 21/17 21/16. It was then Vikings’ turn to win two games when Sophie Wade and Daughen won 21/15 21/16 against Goldie and Corkish.
Finally, Ronan and Ennett won both games against Karen Wade and Spellman 21/15 21/16.

Despite losing 3-14, Sulby B put up a determined and valiant fight, winning second men’s doubles and one of the three games in the third mixed match.
But Peel A was undoubtedly the stronger team, reflected in the overall score.
It was an evening with an abundance of good will and friendliness.
