Kaytlyn Adshead recorded another impressive podium finish in round two of the FIM Women’s Trial2 World Cup at the weekend.

The teenager’s early arrival in France enabled her to practice with 2019 Trials GP Champion Emma Bristow and fellow British ace Alice Minta before heading to Charade, near Clermont-Ferrand and getting down to business at the world championships.

On the first lap of 12 sections Kaytlyn dropped 24 marks, placing her in a provisional fourth place on her Team Station Garage TRRS machine.

A better second lap saw her drop 20 marks, elevating her to third place and another podium spot, a mere one mark off second place and only eight off a win.

This was a tremendous result considering this was only Kaytlyn’s third event on the world stage.

The trial was won by Sofia Rabino (Beta) from fellow Italian Sara Trentini (Vertigo). The result elevates Glen Maye girl Kaytlyn to third in the Trial2 World Cup standings behind Rabino and Trentini with four rounds remaining.

’It was a good day in France to come away with another P3 in Trial2,’ said Kaytlyn, who thanked Michael Owen for ’running round all day’ and Station Garage trials team for the support at home.

Her mentors rode well in the GP Women’s elite class with Bristow winning the event and Minta finishing sixth.

- Kaytlyn and her minder/manager Michael will travel to the next round in Andorra on August 20-22.
