Manx Harriers’ Summer 10km walk is taking place this evening (Thursday) round Andreas village, from 7pm.

Prizes are for the first three walkers on sealed handicap (mass start with handicaps added on at conclusion of racing).

Entry fees are £5 registered club athletes and £7 for unattached walkers and there will be junior support events at various distances depending on age. All junior entries £1.

Signing on is at Andreas village hall from 6.15pm.

Volunteer lap recorders and marshals are required. Please contact Bridget on 497594 if you are free to help.

l The final round of the Ramsey Park Run Series is this Friday, July 14 starting at 7pm. Sign on in Ramsey Rugby Club from 6.15pm. The various races will be followed by a presentation.

l The annual Veteran’s Mile is to be held over the NSC race track next Wednesday, July 19.

Registration will be from 6.30pm, and there will be no entry fee for IoM Veteran Athletes’ Club members.

Non- members are welcome but must be of veteran age (ie over 35). Entry fee for non-club members is £3.

Trophies will be presented to the winners on the night.

As the race is being slotted into the weekly track and field league schedule, the start time cannot be guaranteed but the estimate is between 7.15 and 7.30pm.

All members welcome, please come along, perhaps bring a spouse, partner, colleague or friend (so long as they are over 35) and challenge them at this timed event.

l The first of the summer series of Promenade Runs takes place on Saturday, July 22 in Port Erin.

There will be the usual 2km and 5km events plus a 10km race if there is enough marshals.
