This weekend sees one of the key matches in the PwC Men’s Premier League season when Bacchas A and Vikings A battle to become title favourites.
On paper it is incredibly close with both teams scoring a large number of goals, but Bacchas have netted 12 more than Vikings in the opening four games which is a huge difference at this stage of the season.
Vikings will therefore be hoping their attack can match Bacchas in what is going to be a thriller.
Elsewhere, Castletown A take on Ramsey A in their battle for points while Valkyrs A have a potentially tricky fixture against a plucky Vikings B side.
In the PwC Women’s Premier League, Ramsey A become the latest side to attempt to tame leaders Vikings A, with the All Blacks going into the game as huge favourites.
Castletown A are looking to banish the demons of last week’s game against the leaders and will hope to overcome a strong Valkyrs side. Both teams could cement their second place in the league this weekend.
In the closest league in Manx hockey, PwC Women’s Division One looks like going to the wire with only two points separating top and bottom.
Saracens currently lead the way on goal difference and take on a resolute Harlequins B, while Vikings B going up against Valkyrs B.
The three teams of Valkyrs B, Vikings B and Saracens A are all currently level on points so each will be looking to gain an advantage in the league on Saturday.
If Women’s Division One is a close affair, the same cannot be said for PwC Men’s Division One with Saracens being the only team to have recorded four wins out of four and are flying ahead in the goal difference stakes as well.
With Bacchas B struggling to score goals and Saracens seemingly scoring at will, the Bacchas B versus Saracens A game on paper looks to be one-sided. However, never underestimate a Bacchas side, especially with the Premier League pedigree they boast.
Ramsey B are looking to move off the bottom of the table against Harlequins A who should prove too strong for the northerners, while Vikings C will be hoping to take their good form into their match with Valkyrs B.
With Castletown B not playing this week, it is an opportunity for the rest of the teams to catch up in PwC Women’s Division Two.
Valkyrs C take on Saracens B, while Bacchas C will be aiming to earn their first points of the season against Ramsey B.
PwC Men’s Division Two sees Saracens B take on Harlequins B and Castletown B take on Valkyrs C.
