Bacchas C will be aiming to take control of Rossborough Women’s Division Two hockey league this weekend.

With Bacchas currently sitting top of the table with a game in hand, they will be looking to overcome Castletown Colts and at the same time hope that Vikings C lose to Castletown C.

Currently Vikings C and Bacchas C are level at the top of the table, but with the game in hand the latter are in the driving seat.

Vikings C have already lost two games this year and they will be hoping for a repeat performance against the southerners when they last faced each other when they ran out convincing winners.

But this will be no easy feat as the southerners’ third string have defeated Bacchas C this season in a tight fixture. If Bacchas can field their strongest side this weekend, few will doubt their title favourites tag.

In the Rossborough Men’s Premier League, Bacchas C have one of the easiest games of the weekend when they face bottom side Valkyrs B.

Vikings B test themselves against Valkyrs A who they were unfortunate not to score past last time they locked horns so they will be looking for a better result this time round.

Elsewhere Vikings A take on Ramsey A and, although the latter have shown flashes of brilliance, the westerners should prove too strong for them.

Vikings A sit three points clear at the top of the Rossborough Women’s Premier League with their closest challengers Valkyrs A desperately trying to keep pace.

The latter haven’t looked at their best so far this season but they have improved over the past couple of weeks. This Saturday Vikings A face a determined and well-drilled defence in the form of Castletown A, while Valkyrs travel to Ramsey to take on the northerners’ first team.

Elsewhere Bacchas A take on Valkyrs B who, although being a well-liked side that certainly gives as good as they get, shouldn’t be a match for Bacchas.

In Rossborough Men’s Division One Harlequins will be hoping to defeat Vikings C after the two sides’ last meeting ended in a draw, while league leaders Bacchas A travel to Castletown to play the southerners’ B team in what should be - on paper - a one-sided game.

Bacchas B will aim to reignite their season in Rossborough Women’s Division One when they face bottom side Valkyrs C.

The former have only won one game this year and are in a relegation fight with the westerners.

If Valkyrs can somehow come away with even a point, it would certainly make this relegation battle interesting in the closing weeks.

Rossborough Men’s Division Two sees three matches with Castletown Colts facing off against a Ramsey B side hoping to maintain a title charge, while the impressive Harlequins B face fellow title challengers Bacchas Colts. Elsewhere Valkyrs C take on Bacchas C.

The under-16 mixed teams are also in action this weekend, with overwhelming league leaders Harlequins taking on bottom side Castletown A.

Elsewhere, second-placed Vikings face Bacchas A and Ramsey Rogues & Rascals welcome Valkyrs to Ramsey.
