Mark Cavendish made it back-to-back wins in the Tour of Turkey this afternoon (Tuesday).

After waiting more than 1,100 days without a stage victory - since winning at the Dubai Tour in February 2018 - the Manx Missile recorded successive wins in fine style on Monday and Tuesday.

Riding for Deceuninck-QuickStep, the 35-year-old former world champion edged past Jasper Philipsen in a thrilling sprint finish into Konya on Monday.

The Manxman then repeated the trick 24 hours later when beating the Belgian in another sprint, this time into the Turkey sea resort of Alanya.

In doing so, Cav cemented his place as the overall leader of the race.
