Ben and Tom Birchall claimed their sixth TT win and their second double with another dominant victory in the Sure Sidecar Race 2 on Friday afternoon.

The Mansfield brothers went into the race as favourites to claim another win having romped to a record-breaking triumph in Monday’s delayed first race.

There was no joy for locals Dave Molyneux and Dan Sayle who retired from third place on the second of three laps, but fellow Manxman Lee Cain claimed his second podium of the week by helping John Holden to second place.

Lewis Blackstock and Patrick Rosney impressed throughout the race and at one point looked set to take the final step on the podium.

However, Conrad Harrison and Andrew Winkle pipped them to third on the final lap, while local Karl Bennett and Maxime Vasseur completed the top five.
