The Dan Kneen Youth Two Day Trial took place at Glen Lough recently, incorporating rounds four and five of the youth series.

In addition, Sunday’s action formed round four of Peveril MCC’s solo adult and sidecar 2020 championship.

On-form Bobby Moyer topped A class throughout with a particularly dominant ride on day two.

Championship leader Kaytlyn Adshead was only two marks adrift on day one, with Corey Peters another eight behind. Over a tougher course on day two, Moyer really turned the screws to complete the weekend with a combined score of 20. Adshead finished on 36 and Peters 67.

B class was super competitive on day one with Summer Peters leading on 21 marks from Jack Asbridge (24) and Stan Cubbon (28).

But Asbridge pulled off some terrific rides on Sunday to overhaul Peters, adding a mere five marks to win by a clear margin of 19. Cubbon was a close third another two behind.

Cayden Higgins dominated C class, dropping seven on day one and 20 on day two in muddier conditions after heavy overnight rain.

Second place went to the ever-improving Liam Barker on 44, with Jacob Wilson third on 64.

Oliver Kennington and Harrison Doyle finished day one only two dabs apart in D class, Oliver going round for a couple of dabs.

They had another good tussle on Sunday, but a couple of late fives by Harrison enabled Oliver to extend his lead, halving his rivals final score of 22.

Danny Cain managed to hold off Ewan McCubbin by a single mark to grab third for a maiden podium finish, earning him the Dan Kneen Best Performance award for the weekend.

Top girl was Isla Kennington in sixth place.

Young Lilly Peters, having only previously completed one event, dropped 45 marks on Saturday and 53 on Sunday in E class to dip under 100 for the weekend.

Michael Owen and Mark Moyer both cleaned Sunday’s course to win the adult twinshock and sportsman classes respectively.

There was a tight battle between Wayne Wardell and Michael Jackson in the clubman class, with a single mark separating the two in Wardell’s favour at the finish.

Aaron Molyneux was the sole expert competitor.

The three-wheel class saw only one expert crew, Olly Lace and Ealish Baxter. Aleyn Taggert steered passenger Sam Baxter to the clubman class win on a hefty loss of 55, with two former road race passengers, Richard Murphy and Jason O’Connor, runners-up on 88.

l Peveril MCC extends a big thank you to the Quayle family for the use of the land, plus all observers and helpers. In addition, gratitude is extended to the Dan Kneen Charitable Fund, Road & Track and Jason Griffiths Motorcycles.
