Manx cyclist Amelia Sharpe clinched a bronze medal at the 2019 British National Track Championships in Manchester last weekend.

The 17-year-old formed part of the Liv CC-Halo Cycles squad that performed admirably in the women’s team pursuit event alongside team-mates Ella Barnwell, Eluned King and Elena Smith.

They clocked the third fastest time in the qualifying heat to earn a place in the ride-off for the bronze medal in the final.

Then the Liv CC-Halo girls got the better of a strong RST Cycle Division squad by only one second to clinch the final step on the podium.

In addition, Amelia also contested the qualifying rounds of the scratch and points races but unfortunately she was drawn in the two heats containing several of the favourites, including eventual winners Laura Kenny and Neah Evans.

Amelia went on to finish 14th in both races, narrowly missing out on selection for the finals by only two places.
