Round nine of the Callin Wild Manx Fell Running League will take place at North Barrule next Wednesday, July 3, starting at 7pm.
It will be held over a shorter route than previous years because of access problems. The race will start at the Dreemlang field and follow the Manx Mountain Marathon route to the summit of North Barrule before returning the same way in reverse.
Registration will be from 6pm at the only designated car park at Ballagilley Farm (accessed by turning off the A2 coastal road at the Hibernia and following the Rhowin Hibernia Road). The car park will be on the right and will be signposted and marshalled. Please do not park anywhere else unless directed.
Minimum age is 12 years on race day. It will be a counter in the Junior Fell League.
As there is livestock on the race route please do not bring dogs with you if on a pre-race recce. No dogs permitted on race night.
As the race is designated ’A short’, organisers can relax the amount of safety gear carried by runners depending on conditions. It is recommended that everyone turns up with a minimum of a whistle and jacket. Whistles will be provided to all juniors.
The route differs from previous years - details will be announced via Facebook and the club website - www.manxfellrunners.org
