The Isle of Man contingent came away from the Lancashire cross-country championships with a combined tally of eight medals on Saturday.This included team gold for Manx Harriers senior women’s squad for the seventh year in succession by a close margin of two points, plus an individual gold for Andy Fox in the over-60 men’s race.Rachael Franklin took an individual silver in the women’s race,  finishing close behind an athlete who ran in the Great Britain under-23 team at the recent European Cross-Country Championships in Lisbon.Elissa Morris was seventh, Carly Craig 15th and Laura Dickinson 25th, with Ciara Hardisty the non-counter in 37th spot.There was also a team bronze for Manx Harriers under-11 girls’ team, as well as a silver for Northern AC’s under-13 boys team.Carly Craig grabbed silver in the women’s over-40 category, with silver also gained by David Mullarkey in the under-20 men’s race, helping secure bronze for the Manx Harriers team in the same event.A full report in today’s Manx Independent.
