The next two Sunday events on Isle of Man Cycling’s road calendar have either been postponed or cancelled because of the road works taking place on Lezayre Road in Ramsey.
Manx Road Club’s Nelson Memorial Mountain Time Trial was scheduled to take place this Sunday, but that has now been postponed until September 23.
Ellan Vannin CC’s Rob Rohrer Memorial 25-time trial has been cancelled for the same reason. The race route passes through St Jude’s three times and it is felt the much-increased pressure on the junction from the newly-introduced traffic diversion would make racing impracticable and unsafe for riders.
l Round five of the SAS Bikestyle handicap road race series takes place this Thursday evening at Jurby, starting from the parade ground at 7pm.
There are further rounds on Thursdays June 28, July 19 and 26.
l Entries for the Microgaming Play if Forward Lighthouses Challenge Sportive on Sunday, July 8 close on July 2. Go to: www.sasevents.im for more details.
