The pre-Christmas social cycle ride to the Baltic Inn, Foxdale for a carol service and get-together takes place tomorrow evening, Wednesday.

Riders from the Douglas area will meet at the Railway Inn, Union Mills from around 6.30pm before heading to Foxdale on the back roads or mountain bike trails.

People generally arrive at the Baltic from 7.45 onwards. Hot food will be available from a mobile unit outside.

l The second annual Rigid Turkey off-road cycling event takes place at Noble’s Park this Sunday, December 23.

The main event is a relay for teams of two, but these will be selected by the organisers using a seeded draw to give everyone a chance of winning one of the four trophies.

Riders must be on rigid bikes (mtb, road or cyclo-cross). It will be on TLI entries (£15 per team) and all proceeds will go to the James Berry Fund. Return entries to Rob Sorby, 13 Cronkbourne Avenue, Douglas.

Youths sign on 9am, Rigid Turkey 10am, main car park behind the Grandstand.

l The annual Geoff Quine memorial ride takes place on Thursday, December 27, starting from the NSC main gates.

This year’s ride will finish up at the new Cycle 360 premises at the Cooil Business Park for refreshments and presentations.
