Monday evening’s stockcar meeting at Onchan Raceway started with a minute’s silence for Roland Warburton who has sadly passed away recently.

Roland’s son Danny raced ministox until a year ago and Roland was always a great help to the parents and kids in the pits when problems occurred with their cars.

James Davis said a few words on behalf of everyone before the entire stadium fell silent. Onchan Raceway would like to extend their deepest sympathy to the Warburton family.

Racing got under way with the 1st Choice Windows Ministox.

Jordan Halligan-Bunce couldn’t be caught in race one claiming victory and also the White and Yellow top drivers trophy.

Race two saw only Connor Bailey-Bridson and Ted Davis complete race distance after Josh Watson and Davis came together on the back straight sending Watson across the grass and back onto the track in the path of Jack Dobson and Halligan-Bunce. Bailey-Bridson went on to win the one-lap shoot-out from Davis.

Bailey-Bridson took his second win of the evening in race three from Dobson and Davis.

The Onchan Raceway trophies were awarded to Connor Bailey-Bridson, Davis and Dobson.

The Ministox Sword of State was awarded to Ted Davis who came out on top over the last three meetings with 43 points.

The Mann Construction F2s were out next with Dougie Kinrade coming from the back to take the victory from Paul Fearn, Terry-John Rigaux and Kevin Hooper.

Rigaux got to grips with the car in race two and he collected his maiden victory in only his second race meeting.

Race three was won by Kinrade meaning the evening’s Onchan Raceway trophies went to him, Rigaux and Fearn.

The Onchan Raceway production rods were battling it out in the second round of their Gold Cup.

The racing was fast and close from in this non-contact class, Robert Hooper making his way to the front to win race one from Leonie Marchbank and Josh French.

Race two saw French take the lead mid-race from India Cowin. French won followed by Hooper and Cowin.

Hooper again took control again in race three to win from French and Sarah Wass.

The Onchan Raceway trophies were awarded to Hooper, French and Marchbank the latter also receiving the Victory Lane women’s award.

Going into the final round of the Gold Cup Hooper leads on 35 points from French (28) and Cowin (20).

The A&J Butchers Bangers saw 13 cars out on track for round two of the Commissioners’ Cup.

Racing was action packed from the drop of the green flag and race one had to be stopped on lap seven to remove stricken cars. Ste Collister won the restarted race from Steven Guest and Ashley Faragher.

Race two was carnage with cars coming together and spinning all-round the track.

Ashley Faragher emerged race winner from Sam Reeder and Spud Collister.

Race three saw the field reduced to nine starters but they provided just as much action and entertainment, Reeder claimed the victory this time from Faragher and Scott Farthing.

The Onchan Raceway trophies were awarded to Faragher, Reeder and Collister.

Going into the final round of the Commissioners’ Cup the points are close at the top with Ashley Faragher leading on 21 from Ashley Harrison (18) and Collister (17).

Racing resumes on Monday evening at 7.30pm. This marks the start of a busy week, with further meetings on Thursday, July 27 and Saturday, July 29. These will feature visiting drivers contesting the F2 Manx Open Championship and National Ministox rounds.
