There’s a Vikings derby on the cards in Manx Hockey Association’s Rossborough Men’s Division One this Saturday.

Vikings B take on Vikings C in what should prove to be a feisty encounter, with the C team looking to move away from the relegation zone and the B side aiming for a return to form following last week’s tight game against Valkyrs B.

Whoever wins this takes home the bragging rights for the week.

Elsewhere, Bacchas B entertain the resurgent Valkyrs B with the blues on a high following their win last week and Bacchas currently top of the league without loss.

The final game of the day in this division sees Harlequins A take on Castletown A in a match where Castletown will be the more desperate to win and claw their way out of the relegation zone.

Saracens A are hoping to carry their form in the Rossborough Men’s Premier League into their encounter with league leaders Bacchas A.

After the results of their past two games, Bacchas will need to be wary of the continued improvement seen from the Saracens side.

Vikings A will be looking to return to winning ways when they take on Ramsey A - following their performance in their last outing, Vikings really need to improve if they want to continue to fight for the league title.

Rossborough Women’s Premier League is a two-horse race this year and few will expect anything other than a Valkyrs A win when they visit Ramsey A, while it should be a similar story for Vikings A as they aim for victory against Castletown A.

This could be a great opportunity for Valkyrs to narrow the goal difference gap with Castletown proving to be a stern test for anyone in this league, while Ramsey have suffered a loss of form following their good start to the current campaign.

The other game in the women’s top flight sees the bottom two sides go head-to-head, with Bacchas A visiting Saracens A.

Barring a massive win for Saracens, the blues will remain bottom of the table but could kickstart their season this weekend with a good performance.

The all-conquering Valkyrs B take on a resurgent Vikings B who started the season poorly but have clawed their way into second and will now hope to become the first side to beat Valkyrs B this year.

At the same time Bacchas B take on Castletown B and, with both sides struggling at times this season, this could prove a valuable two points to whoever wins.

Saracens B and Ramsey B have managed to move clear of the chasing pack after last Saturday and it should be the same following this weekend.

Whoever sits at the top of the league depends on who scores more goals this weekend, with Saracens B taking on Valkyrs C and Ramsey B travelling to Douglas to take on Harlequins B.

There is another derby day when Bacchas C take on Bacchas Colts, with the young colts side looking to continue their title challenge.

Rossborough Women’s Division Two sees Bacchas C take on Saracens B while Ramsey B will be hopeful of taking advantage of Vikings’ slip last week and take home both points when they face Vikings C.
