There is a good entry for the Isle of Man Open Water Triathlon Championships at Ramsey this Sunday, sponsored by Microgaming.
The events, which start at 9.30am, will be based at Mooragh Park.
There are 38 entries for the sprint event and a further 26 in the standard distance race. In addition there are 10 teams of three tackling the sprint race and four in the longer-distance standard event.
Will Draper, Christian Varley and Peter Kennaugh are likely to feature prominently in the standard distance event which begins with a 1,500 metre swim in the lake, followed by two laps of a 40km cycle involving the coast road to Bride and a circular route to Andreas, culminating with a 10km run round the park and on North Shore Promenade.
There are eight women in this event including Gaynor Evans and Island Games team member Carrie Wernham.
The shorter sprint event has distances of 750-metre swim, a 20km cycle and a 5km run.
Ryan Downey and Nathan Draper are likely to feature well in this race, but it will be interesting to see how teenage paralympian Ben Grainger gets on in his first multi-discipline event.
