Isle of Man Table Tennis Association’s Senior and Junior Top 12 events took place on Sunday at the NSC recently.

There was plenty of exciting action to be seen in both tournaments

Barry Callister Memorial Senior Top 12

The first round was played in two groups of six players and only four matches went against the rankings, with John Magnall beating Scott Lewis 9/11 in the fifth end.

Elsewhere, John Shooter defeated Liam Chan in straight sets, Tim Baker beat Malcolm Cummings in four sets and Sean Drewry got the better of Duncan Alexander in straight sets.

The bottom two in each group played for positions 9-12, while the middle two players from each group played for positions 5-8.

The top two faced each other, with Chris Holland beating Magnall to reach the final and Drewry beat Lewis in the other semi.

The final between Holland and Drewry resulted in a straight sets win for the latter 11/9 11/6 11/8 to seal the title.

Malcolm Looker Memorial Junior Top 12 Tournament

This was played in the same format as the Senior Top 12.

All matches with the exception of one went with the seedings in the group stage, with. William Dalugdugan being beaten by Glenn Callow 11/5 11/9 5/11 12/14 3/11

The top two in each group played for the title. William Shooter lost to William Dalugdugan 11/8 11/5 6/11 8/ 11 6/11 and had to play for third place which he took by beating Ronan Thompson 8/11 11/7 11/4 11/7.

Glenn Callow, having beaten Ronan 7/11 11/7 11/4 11/8 in the semi-final, joined William

Dalugdugan in the final and went on to win and retain his title 11/8 11/9 11/7.
